The Illica winery has always been committed to preserving the territory by labeling exclusively organic wines, among which the still white wine called “Traiano” stands out.
Traiano is produced near the ancient Roman city of Veleia and, adjacent to the vineyard, the ancient Trajan table from which the wine takes its name was found.
The vineyard is located at 700m a.s.l. whose altitude protects it from contemporary climatic changes and preserves its elegance in its scents.
The vinification also includes this Piacenza white among the vegan wines since during the clarification process no animal-derived products are used (such as egg albumin, casein etc.) but we intervene by modifying the temperatures and using pea derivatives.

Features
The grapes are a blend of Malvasia di Candia, Trebbiano romagnolo, Ortrugo and Chardonnay that give a wealth of aromas to both the nose and the palate.
The crystalline straw yellow color shows itself already when the bottle is closed due to its total transparency.
Nose is fine in its hints of bergamot, sage and apple enriched with mineral notes.
These notes derive from a medium-textured terroir whose presence of marine fossils, such as the shell depicted on the label, enrich its qualities.
In fact, on the palate it is sapid, fresh with a good structure and a persistence that turns on notes of aromatic herbs and pear.
Combinations
The still white wine “Traiano” goes well with an aperitif based on Piacenza coppa and fresh cheeses, with pumpkin ravioli and fish-based main courses, making it a wine suitable for many occasions that can be well accompanied with numerous courses of more different menus.
