Grana Padano PDO is an Italian hard cheese produced in 13 provinces among which Piacenza undoubtedly stands out. It is a cheese with a protected designation of origin (PDO), and this means that all stages of the production chain (breeding and milking of the cows, collection and transformation of milk into cheese, maturing) must necessarily take place in the area of origin.
Truly a very healthy product can in fact be consumed by anyone, even those intolerant to lactose, as it contains only traces of it thanks to a particular method of processing the milk.
Grana Padano is also rich in vitamins: it contains vitamin A and B vitamins such as B1, B2, B6 and B12. These are important for visual function, for the proper development of cells and especially vitamin B12 contributes to the formation of red blood cells and cells of the nervous system.

On our e-commerce you can find Grana Padano PDO in different maturations and cuts from the Latteria Sociale Stallone.
The Stallone dairy is located a stone’s throw from the historic residence of Maestro Giuseppe Verdi, where the famous composer lived in the second half of the nineteenth century. A generous land, where the Arda and the Ongina are lost in the waters of the Great River, between silent mists and fiery afternoons.
The history of this dairy starts in the second post-war period and reaches up to the present day. In this period of time, the Stallone Dairy has seen an increase in the number of members up to the current 11, acquiring numerous certifications that attest to the quality of their products, starting with the Protected Designation of Origin recognized by the European Union in 1996.
Today Stallone transforms about 200,000 quintals of milk per year, for a daily production of 95 wheels and a total of 26,000 wheels that mature in the warehouse from 12 to 36 months for an average weight of about 30 kilograms.
At the table
It is advisable to consume Grana 1 or 2 times a week as a main course, combining it with a portion of seasonal vegetables, both raw and cooked, all accompanied with wholemeal bread.
