Ortrugo DOC Sparkling Wine: Spago, Il Poggiarello
The Ortrugo DOC “dei Colli Piacentini” Spago– harvest 2019 – is produced by “Il Poggiarello”, one of the most important producers of the territory. whose typical sparkling wine is a trademark in Piacenza.
Ortrugo is a sparkling DOC white wine, perfect to pair with your appetizers, pasta, risottos and fish.
The fresh scent and its sparklingness makes it an excellent, refreshing and definitely fresh wine.
The Azienda Agricola Il Poggiarello, animated by the desire to guarantee to each bottle a story and an individual care, knows that the good wine “is made in the vineyard”. In the vineyards is born the passion for a production that aims at quality.
Grape variety:
100% Ortrugo (autochthonous variety typical of Piacenza area).
Structure of the ground:
Sub-alkaline ground, lightly calcareous with deep veins of soda
sulphate.

South-east
Trees disposal:
4500 trees/Ha
Winemaking:
After a pellicular cryomaceration for 24 hours and the
fermentation made with selected yeasts at a temperature of 16°C
wine is put in a pressure tank in which a slow refermentation
gives to the wine a delicate and typical petillant.
Taste and flavour:
Straw yellow greenish coloured wine, delicate and typical taste.
Fresh and intense flavour of mint and fresh flowers.
Gastronomic suggestions:
Appetizers, pasta, risotti with vegetables, fish dishes.
