Italian Grana Padano PDO: Cheese Aged 24 Months
Italian Grana Padano cheese PDO: the most exported PDO cheese in the world, aged 24 months.
It’s a fine cheese with an extraordinary taste: thanks to its long aging period it reaches an extraordinary quality and taste.
To be grated on first courses or to be enjoyed in cubes, as it is.
The origins of Grana Padano date back to the Middle Ages: when pilgrims, merchants and travelers needed long-life food for long journeys on the important roads that crossed (and still cross) the territory of Piacenza, such as the Via Emilia and the Via Francigena.
Every aging period (Grana padano cheese usually comes from 12 up to 40 months) has its peculiarities and different tastes, try all of them and choose your favourite.
The Borgonovo Dairy is over 100 years old and produces Grana Padano DOP, butter, ricotta and typical cheeses.
